Journal Entry 040514-A: The Bay Breeze!

Friends,

The Bay Breeze was the home my ex-wife and I were going to build in the summer of 2004.

It was named in honor of my parents night club that was destroyed by Hurricane Camille in August 1969.

The Bay Breeze Club was located on the South Side of Battleship Parkway across from the WUNI radio station.

I decided with my ex-wife to delay construction of our new home on County Road 24 at Sherwood Drive due to pressure on the construction industry at the time.

I was looking forward to having my "Team" at Classic Southern Homes, LLC build this home as it was going to have some features and amenities NOT included in our "Standard" package and "Custom" package of Features and Amenities!

The enclosed "Breezeway, Bonus Rooms and Garage were my favorite attributes of this plan not to mention the Porches!

It was to be our first "truly" custom home because I had discussed with my ex-wife the possibility of her getting her License and utilizing her talents for "Interior" design to create her own home-building company that I had hoped she would be able to build a "Speculative" house or two.

The Mortgage was approved but to be perfectly honest I am glad we did not proceed because just a few months later Hurricane Ivan would make land-fall at Lighthouse Beach just West of Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The Hurricane made the pressure on the Construction Industry at least in our area almost unbearable in the months following the storm. In fact Hurricane Katrina dealt the Industry in our Area to my knowledge almost a death blow. Katrina was an awful blow to the Central Gulf Coast as was Ivan in 2004 and I'm sure just about anywhere else that hurricane's affected in those two years.

I think I will stop here. I just need too.

The plan was included in our brochure but I have never and will most likely never ever build this home!

I hope you like the plan. It was mine and my ex-wife's design.

Please contact Rhinetta Homes in Mississippi or Dukes Homes in Alabama! I'm sure Chip or Hayne would build this home for you and build a damn good home for you at that my friends!

They are my friends and always will be but honestly they will build you a fine home!

Journal Entry 033114-A: The New Meridian with a Bonus Room!

Friends,

The inspiration for re-designing the Meridian to include a bonus room came to my "team" at Classic Southern Homes, LLC and myself after the construction of Alabama State Trooper Jenkins Home just South of Downtown Daphne.

The Meridian as our Model Home had been so popular that I for one know I stood out side in front of the model home located at the intersection of county road 13 and county road 64 with the floorplan in hand and contemplated how the bonus room could be incorporated into a stock floor plan that could be included into our brochure.

I worked with my ex-wife my planning service and other members of the Classic Southern Homes, LLC team to many to mention in this post to determine if my ideas and theirs would work.

The plan turned out great and was added to our "stock" plans sometime prior to Hurricane Ivan.

The step was to see if it was received by the public and build one of the damn things!

As luck would have it the public loved it and we sold five prior to Hurricane Ivan and having the opportunity to work out any "kinks" in the plan while having one under construction.

The New Meridian with a Bonus Room is a beautiful home once completed and was offered both in our "standard" package and "custom" package of "features and ammenities".

I hope you love the floor-plan. I certainly do myself  personally and like I said "I hope you like it as well".

God Bless, Peace, Love and Knowledge!

Journal Entry 031814-A: The Monticello and The Sarasota!

Friends,

The Monticello and The Sarasota were two additional stock plans and offered for construction under contract by my team at Classic Southern Homes, LLC from July 15, 2001 to August 8, 2005!

Actually the Monticello may have been in my original stock plans but the Sarasota was added later.

I helped design both plans none-the-less either with my planning service or with my customers if not as a three-way team.

The Monticello and The Sarasota were offered to be constructed within 100 miles of my model home in Daphne, Alabama within the State of Alabama.

The "Standard" and "Custom" Packages of "features" and "Ammenities" were offered for both floor plans as was the ability for our clients to make any changes to the floor plans or the individual package selected by our clients.

My team at Classic Southern LLC constructed 1 Monticello and approximately 3 Sarasota's during that period of time.

I beleive all were the "Custom" Package except possibly one.

For me the team included everyone from the planning service to Andrees Wine and Cheese here in Fairhope that provided a basket left for our Clients after the "Walk-Thru"!

I had a possible 100 different Companies and Individuals listed on my "Cost-to-build" sheet!

I hope you enjoyed the post and if you find you like the plan please consider Dukes Homes in Alabama or Rhinetta Homes in Mississippi!

Stop by and see me at Battleship Marine if you need anything for your boat, boat trailer or marine engine.

I have Nautical gifts and athletic gifts as well.

Local businesses items wanted or for-sale are featured on the advertising page!

God Bless, Peace, Love and knowledge!

Friends,

As "Owner and Builder" at Classic Southern Homes, LLC from July 15, 2001 to August 8th 2005 our team of suppliers and tradesman completed approximately 5 of the "Custom Homes" shown in this post that were contracted to be built on your lot within 100 miles of my Model Home located in Daphne, Alabama.

I offered both of these homes to be constructed in our "Standard" Package of Ammenities and Features as well as the "Custom" Package of Ammenenities and Features!

If my memory serves me correct all 5 of these homes were constructed under contract as the "Custom" Package of Features and Ammenities.

God Bless, Peace, Love and Knowledge!

012614-A: The Gulf Breeze and The Augusta!

Friends,
The Classic Southern Homes, LLC team with Floyd Clifton Wooley as builder from July 15th 2001 until August 8th 2005 offered the following two floor plans to be built on your lot within 100 miles of Daphne, Alabama!

The two plans shown were offered in two packages of amenities and features with changes to the floor plan and amenities at our customers request. I helped design these plans many times from a customers sketch or another plan they had seen and worked with in some way too make it more acceptable as their "Dream Home"!

The two packages were the "Standard" package and the "Custom" Package!

I had a predetermined price on my "Stock" plans and worked from the closest "Stock" plan that fir the design and style as well the amenities offered in the two Packages!

The "Team" at Classic Southern Homes, LLC contracted and built 2 Gulf Breeze Homes and 1 Augusta!

I was proud to be a part of the team and I thought I would share the memory with you!

Floor Plans 110313-A: The Charlotte and The Orleans!

Friends,

The Charlotte and The Orleans were offered to be constructed on our clients lots and/or Land between July 15th 2001 and August 2005 by our "team" at Classic Southern Homes, LLC.

The Charlotte was in the "original" brochure but the Orleans was named for a client that brought in a version in July 2001.

I offered both floor-plans to be built as the "standard" package or the "custom" package.

The Charlotte if my memory serves me correct was constructed for "four" clients.

The Charlotte was the first home I constructed as a builder and the Orleans was the second home I constructed as a builder- in fact I was standing on the foundation pad for the "Orleans" the day our nation was "attacked" on September 11, 2001!

I never will forget hearing the attack being broadcast over the radio that I had left on in my 97 Yukon while I walked over to inspect the foundation pad Mr. William Walley of Fairhope had just completed for me.

The Orleans was constructed for "two" clients.

I hope you like the floor plans.

Floor Plans 102313-A: The Perdido and The Savannah!

Friends,
The "team" at Classic Southern Homes, LLC offered The Perdido and The Savannah to be constructed on your lot within 100 miles of Mobile, Alabama from July 15, 2001 until 2005.
The plans were offered to be constructed in one of two packages of Ammenities and Features.
The "Custom" Package or the "Standard" Package with "Custom" changes made during the planning stages by the Sales/Pre-Construction Co-Ordinator and Mickey Stewart Planning Service Prior to the Mortgage being applied for or for that matter a "Contract" having been signed between my Company and the Client.
All I asked my "team" to collect was a deposit on the "blue prints" with deposit being based on the "work-sheet" that detailed to me what changes to the floor plan were to made and what ammenities were to be added to the "Package"!
Once we finalized those changes and a contract price was finalized I would instruct my Sales/Pre-Construction Co-Ordinator to ask the Client to sign a contract so that the mortgage could be applied for with the Mortgage Company of their choice.
Changes after the contract were signed required an amendment to the contract and changes to the "blue prints". The amendment and if neccessary the new blue prints were then sent to the mortgage company for approval.
This was only possible if the new contract did not exceed the pre-approval mortgage amount most clients had already received from the mortgage company.
Classic Southern Homes, LLC built a total of:
2- Perdido projects and
8- Savannah projects during this period of time.
I am personally fond of The Perdido.
I hope you enjoyed the post and found something of value in reading not to mention I hope you like one or both of the floor plans.

Floor Plans 101713-A: The Nathez and Richmond!

Friends,
As shown in the Classic Southern Homes, LLC brochure in 2005!
The Nathez.
The Richmond.
Both Floor Plans were offered both in the "Custom Package" and the "Standard" package of ammenities and features.
My team at Classic Southern Homes, LLC had the good fortune of building two Richmond Projects.
One Richmond was built in West Mobile and the other was built on piling on a Canal lot near Weeks Bay off County Road 27.
I want to personally thank the two families that allowed my Company to build those two homes for them.
Unfortunately our team never had the opportunity to build a Nathez.

Floor Plan 101413-A: The Meridian!

Friends,

The Meridian Floor Plan as offered by Classic Southern Homes, LLC.

Please note: Classic Southern Homes is not currently offering to build nor are the phone numbers or e-mail for the Company active.

However the "Model Home" although being used for another profession.

Dukes Homes may be able to build this plan for you as it was arranged for me by Mickey Stewart Planning Service in Mobile.

Note the "Study" which with it's location near the Master Bedroom and Foyer is "ideal" as an "office" or "Nusery".

There were many ammenities offered in our "Custom Package" for this Home.
